Conservera de Tarifa es una firma de conservas de pescado producidas artesanalmente en la provincia de Cádiz. Su filosofía se basa en la tradición, la calidad y la pesca responsable que recogen el legado de las más de 10 fábricas de conservas que llegaron a existir en la localidad.
Desde 1910, la industria conservera ha guiado el espíritu de progreso para los tarifeños, y en honor a ello rescatamos una historia olvidada en el tiempo: la de los vigías o fareros que visualizaban los atunes desde las atalayas. De esta manera, vinculamos el producto con la zona y su gente.
El packaging por tanto se basa en “El faro, el atún y el mar” y optamos por un diseño antiguo/retro que acompañado de la tipografía Carmen Fiesta de Andreu Balius le da un toque tradicional y familiar. Una de las fuentes de la que cogimos inspiración fue la literatura de Opiano: “Un hábil vigía de atunes, el cual hace conjeturas acerca de los variados cardúmenes que se aproximan… inmediatamente se despliegan todas las redes a modo de ciudad, pues la red tiene sus porteros y en su interior puertas y más recónditos recintos… y rica y excelente es la pesca”.
Conservera de Tarifa is a firm of canned fish produced in an artisanal way in the province of Cádiz. Its philosophy is based on tradition, quality and responsible fishing that collects the legacy of the more than 10 canning factories that existed in the town.
Since 1910, the canning industry has guided the spirit of progress for the people of Tarifa, and in its honor we rescue a history forgotten in time: that of the lookouts or lighthouse keepers who watched the tuna from the watchtowers. In this way, we relate the product to the area and its people.
The packaging is based on “The lighthouse, the tuna and the sea” and we opted for a vintage/retro design with ‘Carmen Fiesta’ typography by Andreu Balius that gives it a traditional and familiar touch.
One of the sources that inspired us was the literature of Oppian: “There first a skilful Tunny-watcher ascends a steep high Hill, who remarks the various shoals…then straightway all the nets are set forth in the waves like a city, and the net has its gate-warders and gates withal and inner courts… and rich and excellent is the spoil”.
